Stonesfield is located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; about 12 miles north west of Oxford, close by the towns of Witney, Woodstock and Charlbury. This charming village is in easy reach of the M40 and is just a few miles away from railway stations (Charlbury or Hanborough) with direct train services to London.
The housing in the village is very varied, with many old Cotswold stone properties alongside a number of late 20th Century buildings.
At the centre of Stonesfield stands a 13th Century church of St. James the Great, its bell tower clearly visible above the surrounding buildings. There is also a Methodist chapel.
The village has a thriving community and excellent facilities for its population of around 1500. Shops include a post office, hairdresser and general stores. There is a primary school and a pre-school. Many clubs and societies run in the village using the village hall, sport and social club, and the St James' Centre.
